The Arabic word „asil” means pure, true, noble, genuine.
The Asil Club Association accepts as asil Arabian horses those whose ancestry is exclusively Bedouin-bred Arabian horses. According to their definition: “An asil Arabian horse is a horse whose
pedigree is exclusively based on horses bred by the Bedouin, with out any evidence whatever of non-Arabian blood being admixed at any time.” A further condition for registration is that the horse must be entered in a studbook or a register accepted by WAHO, the World Arabian Horse Organisation. In addition, it is expected that this horse must also meet the rideability and appearance requirements of the Bedouin.
